The barn swallow is a small migratory bird with long sharp wings and a deeply forked tail. It often lives near humans, builds nests under roofs, and catches insects in flight.
The barn swallow differs from other swallows with very long tail streamers in males and a dark blue back. It brings great benefit by destroying clouds of harmful insects.
