Triglopus scepticus is a small bottom-dwelling marine fish with a large head and bony plates on its body. It lives in cold waters of the northern Pacific Ocean at depths from several meters to hundreds of meters.
Triglopus scepticus differs from related species by special rings around the eyes and the shape of the bony plates. It is important for nature as part of the food chain in cold seas: it eats small animals and serves as food for larger fish and birds.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
