The nuimata kopuha is a deep-sea fish with a soft jelly-like body. It lives on the ocean floor off the coasts of New Zealand at great depths.
The nuimata kopuha differs from other fish with its soft body without scales, which does not compress under enormous water pressure. It helps scientists understand how animals live in the deepest and darkest places of the ocean.
