Nanorana pleskei, or plateau frog, is a small frog that lives on the high plateaus of Tibet and western China. It is adapted to cold climate, thin air, and altitudes from 2500 to 5000 meters above sea level.
The plateau frog differs from other frogs by its ability to live at low temperatures, low oxygen levels, and high altitudes. It is important for nature because it eats insects and serves as food for birds and snakes on highland plateaus.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
