Philautus mooreorum
Pseudophilautus mooreorum
Philautus mooreorum is a small frog from the Rhacophoridae family, living only in the mountains of Sri Lanka. It has no tadpole stage: fully formed small froglets hatch from the eggs.
Philautus mooreorum differs from most frogs by the complete absence of an aquatic developmental stage. The species lives only in a few mountain forests of Sri Lanka and serves as an indicator of the health of these unique ecosystems.
