Brachycephalus hermogenesi is one of the smallest frogs in the world. Its adult length is about 1 centimeter. It lives on the forest floor in the Atlantic forests of Brazil.
Differs from other frogs by its record small body size and complete absence of the tadpole stage. The species is important for preserving the biodiversity of Brazil's Atlantic forests.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
