green razorfish
Xyrichtys splendens
The green razorfish is a marine fish with a body in the shape of a narrow blade. It lives on sandy areas near coral reefs in the warm waters of the Atlantic and quickly buries itself in the sand when in danger.
The green wrasse stands out from other wrasses by its ability to instantly burrow into the sand when threatened. It is important for marine nature because it eats small invertebrates and helps maintain balance on the sandy bottom.
