Ptychohyla euthysanota is a medium-sized tree frog that inhabits cloud forests of Central America. It lives near mountain streams, where it spends most of its time on leaves and rocks.
This frog differs from related species by living only in cool cloud forests near clean mountain streams. It is important for nature because it eats many insects and serves as food for snakes and birds. Its disappearance may indicate water pollution or forest destruction.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
