The beautiful torrent frog lives in fast mountain streams of South and Southeast Asia. It has strong legs with large disc-suckers that help it cling firmly to wet rocks in strong currents.
This frog differs from related species by large suckers on all toes and tadpoles with a powerful oral sucker. It is important for nature because it eats insects and serves as feed for snakes, birds, and other predators in mountain ecosystems.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
