Myuchelys latisternum is a freshwater turtle with a serrated edge of the shell. It inhabits rivers and streams in northern Australia and catches prey with strong jaws.
This turtle differs from close species with noticeable teeth on the rear edge of the shell. It helps maintain order in river ecosystems by eating small animals.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
