The Tibetan antelope, or chiru, is a medium-sized even-toed ungulate mammal. It lives on the high plateaus of Tibet, where it endures severe frosts and thin air.
The Tibetan antelope differs from other antelopes with long straight horns in males and very thin warm fur. It is important for the highland nature as the main herbivorous animal that maintains vegetation balance and serves as prey for predators.
