Chiloglanis cameronensis
Chiloglanis cameronensis
Chiloglanis cameronensis is a small freshwater fish from the Mochokidae family. It lives in fast rivers and streams of Cameroon and uses a sucker mouth to hold tightly to stones in strong currents.
Chiloglanis cameronensis differs from other catfishes by a very strong sucker on the head which allows it to live in fast mountain rivers. It is important for nature because it controls the growth of algae on stones and serves as food for larger fish.
Scrapes and collects food with mouth-sucker.
