Randall's Echidon is a small marine fish with a slender body. It spends most of its life inside sea cucumbers.
Randall's Echidon differs from related fish by using sea cucumbers as a permanent shelter. This allows it to hide from predators. In nature, the fish participates in marine ecosystem food chains and affects the population of invertebrates.
Legendary longevity: over 100 years. Galapagos tortoises, Greenland sharks, ocean quahogs celebrate with family once every 4 years

Theoretical maximum lifespan estimated from the Dynamic Energy Budget (DEB) mathematical model. This value reflects a biological potential derived from metabolic parameters, not from direct observation — real recorded lifespans are often significantly shorter.
