The Mongolian wild horse, or Przewalski's horse, is a true wild species of horse that has never been domesticated. The animals inhabit the steppes of Central Asia and are distinguished by their sturdy body and upright mane.
Przewalski's horse differs from domestic horses by its erect mane without a forelock and more compact build. It is important for nature as part of the steppe ecosystem and the last true wild horse species.
