The elanga megasbor, or Bengal barb, is a small freshwater fish from the carp family. It lives in rivers and standing waters of India and Bangladesh and often stays near the surface.
The Bengal barb differs from other small cyprinid fish by its habit of staying near the surface and its silvery coloration with a dark stripe. It helps reduce the number of mosquito larvae and serves as an important part of the food chain in its water bodies.
Locomotion through water employed while searching for or capturing prey.
Legendary longevity: over 100 years. Galapagos tortoises, Greenland sharks, ocean quahogs celebrate with family once every 4 years

How old you would be if you lived as {name}
Theoretical maximum lifespan estimated from the Dynamic Energy Budget (DEB) mathematical model. This value reflects a biological potential derived from metabolic parameters, not from direct observation — real recorded lifespans are often significantly shorter.
