Perinet leaf chameleon, or Brookesia therezieni, is a very small species of chameleon that lives only in the forests of Madagascar. It camouflages excellently as a dry leaf due to its body shape and brown coloration.
The Perinet leaf chameleon differs from other chameleons by its tiny size and living on the ground among leaves rather than on trees. It helps maintain balance in the forest by eating insects and shows how important camouflage is for survival.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
