The sand fox, or Rüppell's fox, is a small predator from the canine family. It lives in the deserts of North Africa and Arabia and is well adapted to a hot, dry climate.
The sand fox differs from other foxes in its very large ears and light sandy fur coloration. It is important for desert nature because it controls the population of insects and rodents.
