Cathorops fuerthii
The Congo sea catfish Cathorops fuerthii is a fish of the Ariidae family. It lives in coastal marine and brackish waters of West Africa and has long barbels around its mouth.
Unlike many freshwater catfishes, Cathorops fuerthii thrives well in saltwater. It plays an important role in the food chain of estuaries as a predator and a source of food for larger marine animals.
