Craugastor inachus is a small frog living in the tropical forests of Central America. This species has direct development: fully formed small froglets emerge from the eggs without a tadpole stage.
Craugastor inachus differs from most frogs by the complete absence of an aquatic larval stage. This allows the species to live far from permanent water bodies. Frogs help maintain balance in the forest by eating large quantities of insects.
