The Eastern Robber Frog is a small frog about two centimeters long. It lives in the forests of Cuba, lays eggs on land, and tiny froglets hatch directly from them without a tadpole stage.
This frog differs from most amphibians by direct development without an aquatic larval stage. It is important for the forest ecosystem because it eats many small insects and serves as food for snakes and birds.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
