Typhlops arenarius, or the sand worm snake, is a small snake that lives its entire life underground in the sand. It has almost no eyes, its body is thin and smooth like a worm.
This snake differs from other species by its subterranean lifestyle, almost complete absence of eyes, and body adapted to sand. It is important for nature because it eats insects and serves as food for larger animals.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
