greater long-nosed bat
Leptonycteris nivalis
Long-nosed Sossura is a bat with a long narrow nose and tongue. It feeds on nectar and pollen from agave and cactus flowers and lives in caves in arid regions of Mexico and southern USA.
The long-nosed Sosyura stands out with its very long nose and tongue, which allow it to feed in deep flowers. It is important for nature as the main pollinator of agave and cacti, without which these plants reproduce poorly.
