The piglet goby, or rhamphocottus, is a small marine fish with a large head and an elongated snout that looks like a pig's snout. It lives on the bottom of cold seas in the northern part of the Pacific Ocean and moves along the ground using its pectoral fins.
The piglet goby differs from other gobies by a very large head, a special snout and the ability to walk on the bottom on its pectoral fins. It helps maintain balance in the marine ecosystem by eating small invertebrates and serving as food for larger fish.
Legendary longevity: over 100 years. Galapagos tortoises, Greenland sharks, ocean quahogs celebrate with family once every 4 years
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
