little epauletted fruit bat
Epomophorus labiatus
The Ethiopian epauletted fruit bat is a small fruit-eating bat from Africa. Males have white tufts of fur on their shoulders that look like epaulettes and help attract females.
This species differs from other close species with small size and bright white epaulets only in males. It is important for nature because it disperses tree seeds and helps new plants grow in African forests and savannas.
