Stolzman's rat is a small rodent from South America. It lives near streams and rivers in forests and swims well to catch crabs and fish.
Stolzmann's rat differs from other rodents in having webbed hind feet and the habit of eating crabs. It helps maintain balance in the nature of forest streams by eating aquatic animals.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
