Guard Goose
High territoriality, loud and aggressive temperament when strangers approach, strong guarding instinct, loyal to familiar people and animals, noisy, energetic, may show dominance toward other birds.
Selective line based on the greylag goose (Anser anser). Large, massive, long-legged aggressive bird. Male weight 6500–9500 g, females 5500–7500 g. Body length 920–1150 mm, height at withers 850–1050 mm. Differs from the wild greylag goose by significantly larger size, higher legs, vertical carriage of the long powerful neck, massive broad head with a high thick beak, bright blue or bluish-gray iris (instead of dark brown), stiffer dense plumage. Acceptable colors: classic gray (wild type), silver-gray, dark gray, gray-white with white flight feathers and "apron". Not allowed: pure white, reddish/brown tones. Proportions: body length/height ≈ 1.05–1.12; head length ≈ 1/6–1/7 of body length; chest width 38–42% of body length; shank length ≥95 mm in males. Disqualifying: weight below minimum, brown eyes, weak beak, squat build, lack of aggressiveness.
