gorgan salamander
Paradactylodon persicus
Gorgan salamander is a rare species of amphibian from the hynobiidae family. It lives only in mountain streams in northern Iran and has an elongated body with a strong tail.
Gorgan salamander differs from close species by special tooth structure and limited range in the mountains of Iran. It is important as an indicator of clean water in streams and part of the rare mountain ecosystem.
