Baowanlin Goniosaurus is a small lizard with large eyes and movable eyelids. It lives only in one area on Hainan Island in China.
The species is distinguished by the special arrangement of tubercles and coloration from related gonyuurosaurids. It helps maintain balance in Hainan's cave ecosystems.
