Cyclocheilichthys apogon, or beardless barb, is a small freshwater fish from the cyprinid family. It lives in rivers of Southeast Asia and feeds on small organisms on the bottom.
The barbless barb differs from other barbs by the complete absence of barbels around the mouth. It plays an important role in the river ecosystem by processing detritus and serving as food for predatory fish.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
