The Lebanese lizard is a small lizard with smooth scales that lives in the mountains of Lebanon, Syria, and Israel. Males become brightly colored with blue spots on their sides during the breeding season.
The Lebanese lizard differs from related lacertids by its smooth scales and bright male coloration. It helps control insect populations in mountainous areas and serves as food for birds and snakes.
Legendary longevity: over 100 years. Galapagos tortoises, Greenland sharks, ocean quahogs celebrate with family once every 4 years
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.

Theoretical maximum lifespan estimated from the Dynamic Energy Budget (DEB) mathematical model. This value reflects a biological potential derived from metabolic parameters, not from direct observation — real recorded lifespans are often significantly shorter.
