The Chirinda apalis is a small gray bird about 10 centimeters long. It lives only in mountain forests on the border of Zimbabwe and Mozambique and feeds on insects.
The Chirinda apalis has a very small range and depends on the preservation of its single forest. It helps control insect populations and serves as an indicator of the health of African mountain forests.
