pectoral-patch cisticola
Cisticola brunnescens
The Pale-headed Cisticola is a small bird 10–12 centimeters long. It lives in grassy areas of Africa south of the Sahara and is distinguished by a light head with a dark spot on the chest in males.
The pale-headed cisticola differs from related species by its very pale head and special pattern on the chest of males. It helps maintain the balance of insects in African grassland ecosystems.
