The Sokoke pipit is a small bird of the wagtail family inhabiting coastal forests of East Africa. The species is endangered and known for its good camouflage on the forest floor.
The Sokoke pipit differs from other pipits in its attachment to dense coastal forests and very secretive behavior. It is important as an indicator of the health of the unique Arabuko-Sokoke ecosystem and needs protection due to habitat loss.
