Large, massive, heavy meat breed of domestic geese based on the gray goose. One of the largest European breeds. Weight of ganders 7–10 kg (ideal 8–9 kg), geese 6–8 kg (ideal 7–7.5 kg). Body length 850–1100 mm, chest girth 650–780 mm. Build powerful, broad, horizontal or slightly raised stance, with voluminous abdomen and two fat folds ("apron"). Head large, broad, massive. Beak short, thick, broad at base, bright orange or orange-red, length 65–85 mm. Neck of medium length (280–380 mm), very thick, powerful, slightly curved. Body deep, barrel-shaped, chest broad and rounded. Back broad, straight. Abdomen voluminous with two folds. Wings long, strong, tightly pressed.
