Common crag lizard
Pseudocordylus melanotus
Highveld rock lizard, or common rock lizard, lives on rocky slopes and outcrops in the highlands of South Africa. It has a sturdy body, strong legs with claws, and scales that help it cling to vertical surfaces.
This species differs from other rock lizards by the large head of males and live birth. It is important for nature because it eats harmful insects and serves as food for predatory snakes and birds.
