Thayeria obliqua
Thayeria obliqua
Thayeria obliqua is a small schooling fish from the Amazon basin. It swims at a constant incline with its head up thanks to its special body shape and coloration.
Thayeria obliqua differs from other tetras by its inclined swimming and black stripe that helps it camouflage among branches. In nature it regulates the population of small invertebrates and serves as food for predatory fish.
