Pterygoplichthys disjunctivus
Parti-colored pleco is a large freshwater fish with a body covered in bony plates. It has a wide sucker-shaped mouth with which it scrapes algae from rocks and driftwood.
This species differs from other catfishes by its very large dorsal fin and a pattern of winding lines on the body. It is important for nature because it cleans water bodies of excess algae and detritus.
