Calm, phlegmatic, attached to the owner, low aggression toward other pigeons, pronounced instinct for incubation and feeding offspring, moderate activity.
English Owl (английская совиная чайка) — one of the most compact and short-bodied decorative breeds of domestic pigeons. Small, stocky, with a very short and wide figure, creating the impression of a «ball on legs». Proportions are extremely shortened: head, neck and body form an almost continuous rounded line. Distinguished by an extremely large spherical head with a high domed forehead, a short strongly curved «owl» beak, a very short thick neck with a pronounced vertical collar-cravat (cravat) of rigidly curled feathers, fully feathered short legs (pug), short wide wings and a very short wide tail. Ideal weight 260–280 g (range 240–310 g), body length 190–230 mm, wingspan 480–530 mm. Head length 45–52 mm, beak 12–15 mm, neck 35–45 mm, wing 140–155 mm, tail 55–70 mm, tarsus 25–32 mm. Plumage dense, smooth, shiny. Solid colors are allowed: black, red, yellow, silver, blue, coffee, white, as well as diluted forms. The classic version is solid with a white collar and white legs.
