Old Dutch Capuchine (Oud-Hollandse Kapucijn)
Old Dutch Capuchine — a medium-sized ornamental breed of domestic pigeons. Weight of adults 280–380 g (ideally 310–350 g). Total body length 320–380 mm. Compact, sturdy, with well-developed musculature and characteristic "hooded" posture. The body is short, broad, almost square in profile. Differs from the wild rock pigeon by a significantly shorter and broader body, presence of a dense hood, shorter beak and legs, and vertical neck posture. Differs from modern Dutch Capuchine by larger size, more massive build, longer and denser hood, and less extreme head shape. Ideal proportions: head + hood make up approximately 1/3 of the total length; body almost square in lateral projection. Allowed colors: black, red, yellow, blue, silver, coffee, white, as well as pied variants.
