The Chinese paddlefish is a very large freshwater fish with a long paddle-shaped snout. It lived only in the Yangtze River in China and is now considered extinct.
The Chinese paddlefish differed from other fish with its huge paddle-shaped snout equipped with electroreceptors. It was an important predator in the Yangtze ecosystem, but dam construction and river pollution led to its extinction.
Legendary longevity: over 100 years. Galapagos tortoises, Greenland sharks, ocean quahogs celebrate with family once every 4 years
