The spotted sand bass is a marine fish up to 30 centimeters long. It lives on sandy bottoms in the warm waters of the Indian and Pacific Oceans and camouflages itself against the surrounding substrate thanks to its spotted coloration.
The spotted sand bass differs from related species by a special pattern of six rows of dark spots. It is important for nature as a predator that regulates the population of small animals on the seabed.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
