Macrotis leucura
The little bilby, or yallara, is a small marsupial mammal with long ears that used to live in the deserts of Australia. Unfortunately, this species is considered fully extinct since the mid-20th century.
The little bilby differed from the greater bilby in its smaller size, longer ears, and thin tail. It helped desert nature by eating harmful insects and dispersing plant seeds. The species disappeared due to the introduction of cats, foxes, and changes in habitats.
