Richardson's ray is a large deep-sea fish with a flat diamond-shaped body. It lives on the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean at great depths, where there is almost no light.
Richardson's ray differs from other rays by living at very great depths and having a dark coloration. It helps maintain balance in deep-sea ecosystems by eating small animals.
