English Magpie
Active, playful, highly energetic, curious. Gets along well with other pigeons but may show territorial behavior. Strong flight and orientation instinct, characteristic of the Tumbler breed.
English Magpie — a decorative line of domestic pigeons of medium size with a light, graceful and strong build. Weight 260–340 g (ideal 290–310 g), body length 280–340 mm. Compact, elongated bird with high posture and proud stance. Head small, rounded, dry. Eyes large, iris dark orange or reddish-brown. Beak thin, straight, 18–22 mm. Neck long, thin, with a characteristic “break” (sharp break) in the upper third. Body slender, cylindrical, chest narrow and deep. Back short, straight. Wings long, tightly pressed. Legs relatively long (tarsus 35–42 mm). Tail long (110–130 mm), narrow, tightly folded, set at an angle of 45–70° upwards. Plumage dense, smooth, with a metallic sheen on dark areas. Coloring variegated “magpie” type: pure white body with clearly demarcated colored areas on the head (up to the eyes), neck, chest, shoulders, back, wings (two shields) and tail. Acceptable colors: black, red, yellow, blue, silver, brown, cinnamon. Sharp contrast is required, 10–12 white flight feathers. It differs from the basic species and other magpie breeds by a longer thin neck with a break, a high tail angle, a small dry beak and an elegant silhouette.
