Holocentrus adscensionis
The long-snouted squirrelfish, or Holocentrus adscensionis, is a red sea fish with very large eyes and sharp spines on its fins. It lives in coral reefs of the Atlantic Ocean, is active at night, and makes sounds.
The long-snouted butterflyfish differs from related species with its particularly long lower jaw and rough scales. It is important for the reef ecosystem because it controls the population of small animals and serves as prey for large predators.
