Long-nosed velvet shark is a deep-sea predatory fish with a very long pointed snout and soft velvety skin. It inhabits cold dark waters at great depths.
This species differs from other deep-sea sharks by its especially long rostrum and velvety skin. It helps maintain balance in deep-sea ecosystems by regulating the population of small animals.
