Soupfin shark is a marine predator with a long slender body. It lives in temperate warm and cool seas, swims in schools, and feeds on fish and mollusks.
Soupfin shark differs from related species by its very long and narrow body, as well as the absence of spines on the fins. It is important for nature because it regulates fish populations in the seas. Due to fishing for its liver and fins for soup, this species has become vulnerable in many areas.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
