Dolichonyx oryzivorus
The bobolink is a small migratory bird of the Icteridae family. It spends summer in the meadows of North America and winter in the fields of South America.
The bobolink differs from other birds by the bright black-and-white plumage of males during the breeding period and its very long migration. It is beneficial because it destroys harmful insects in the fields and serves as food for predators.
