The long-bearded scaly dragon-fish lives in the deep layers of the ocean. It is a predator with a huge mouth and a very long whisker, at the end of which there is a glowing organ to attract prey.
The scaly dragonfish differs from related species by the presence of scales and an especially long barbel. It occupies an important place in the deep ocean food chain, controlling the population of small animals and serving as food for larger predators.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
