The Ugandan white-toothed shrew-tenrec is a small mammal from the tenrec group. It lives in African forests and has an extraordinarily strong spine that can withstand the weight of an adult human.
This species differs from other shrews by a special structure of the spine with additional processes on each vertebra. Thanks to this, the animal can crawl through very tight spaces and withstand strong pressure. It helps control the population of insects in forest soil.
